Job summary

CLA is seeking a Senior – Accounting Methods to join the Federal Tax Strategies team in New York. The role focuses on accounting methods, tax strategy, and related filings to meet client objectives.

The successful candidate will consult on accounting methods, conduct research, and collaborate across directors and staff while maintaining a high level of integrity and urgency. A CPA-eligible candidate with accounting services experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred.
• Experience in business services, public accounting or consulting preferred.
• Experience in accounting methods preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Access preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult on accounting methods-related issues including automatic and non-automatic accounting methods changes including overall methods, revenue & expense recognition, inventory, capitalization, cost recovery and accounting periods.
• Conduct research related to accounting methods tax issues to maintain and expand your knowledge base.
• Participate and collaborate in accounting methods projects, including client interviews, reviewing client data, preparing calculations, analysis, and preparing supporting tax form filings.
• Collaborate with managers, directors and principals, including industry leaders and other marketing and business personnel throughout the Firm.
• Coach or mentor staff to assist with enhancing their skills and further developing their career.
• Demonstrate ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously in an effective and reliable manner.
