Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is seeking a Manager/Director – Accounting Methods to join our Federal Tax Strategies team. The role focuses on tax methods, timing and character of income, expense recognition, and cost recovery to meet objectives, with a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

You will consult on method changes, research tax issues, and collaborate across the Firm while mentoring staff and handling multiple projects with urgency and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• CPA designation is required (Juris Doctorate or Enrolled Agent may be accepted in lieu).
• 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm required.

Responsibilities

• Consult on accounting methods-related issues including method changes and revenue/expense recognition.
• Evaluate and articulate complex information with clients and internal teams.
• Conduct tax-method research to expand knowledge base.
• Participate in accounting methods projects, client interviews, data review, calculations, and filings.
• Assist with researching and drafting method changes and IRS responses.
• Collaborate with managers, directors, principals, and other personnel across the Firm.
• Coach or mentor staff and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
