Job summary

Vaco by Highspring in Irvine, CA seeks an Accounting Manager Consultant to join the growing accounting team. The contract role focuses on accurate close, GL integrity, and SOX compliance to support reliable financial reporting.

The successful candidate will review journal entries, prepare reconciliations, analyze financial data, and collaborate with leadership to maintain robust internal controls and timely close processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 6 years of accounting, auditing, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Big 4 or Tier II public accounting experience required.
• Experience with SOX compliance, documentation, and testing.
• SAP experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and schedules to ensure an accurate and timely financial close.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of all general ledger transactions.
• Analyze financial data and prepare detailed account reconciliations.
• Perform account analysis and prepare correcting journal entries as needed.
• Review, validate, and process accounting transactions.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding accounting items through analysis and system research.
• Navigate and extract data from financial systems to support accounting and reporting activities.
• Provide timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting to accounting leadership.
• Develop and maintain accurate and current account reconciliations.
• Support ongoing SOX compliance activities, including documentation of process narratives, desk procedures, and internal controls.
• Prepare, execute, and review SOX control activities and testing.
• Perform compliance testing against established accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of SOX-related policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
• Support the administration and enforcement of company accounting policies and procedures.
