Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant Consultant in Irvine, CA for a part-time role (~24-32 hours per week, with 40 hours during month-end close). You will manage journal entries, close processes, GL integrity, reconciliations, and property/corporate segments in Yardi, plus depreciation, intercompany, and tax reporting support.

The role requires 5+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting, and proficiency with Excel, Yardi, and Lacerte.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Property accounting, real estate accounting, or corporate accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries including accruals, prepaids, payroll, and other adjusting entries.
• Assist in monthly and year-end close processes.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Review GL activity and prepare trial balance workpapers.
• Analyze balances and prepare reconciliations.
• Ensure timely recording of financial transactions.
• Create and maintain property and corporate entity segments in Yardi.
• Manage fixed asset schedules and monthly depreciation entries.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and amortization entries.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Review AP invoice coding and support weekly payments.
• Review employee expenses and related entries.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and related entries.
• Calculate line of credit interest expense and loan paydown requests.
• Prepare lender compliance and covenant reporting packages.
• Monitor financing activities and reporting compliance.
• Prepare tax filings documentation (property, partner tax).
• Track new entities in tax reporting systems.
