Job summary

Valar Atomics Inc. is seeking a hands-on Senior Manager of Accounting to own the month-end close end-to-end, evolve the GL and controls, and build a scalable accounting function for a fast-growing hardware/startup environment.

You will partner with Finance, HR, Operations, and Systems to deliver accurate financials, manage fixed assets, and drive system implementations while maintaining audit readiness and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of accounting experience with hands-on month-end close ownership.
• 3+ years leading and developing accounting staff.
• Proven track record in building and scaling accounting function, controls, and processes.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and experience with fixed assets/capitalization.
• Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close end-to-end, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Own GL maintenance and evolving reporting structure to scale with the business.
• Manage fixed assets and construction-in-progress; depreciation and capitalization judgments.
• Prepare internal leadership/investor reporting and coordinate with auditors/tax advisors.
• Drive audit readiness and own technical accounting positions (ASC 718, 842, 606).
• Identify and drive automation of accounting workflows and procedures.
• Lead system implementations (ERP, AP automation) with audit readiness in mind.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
