Job summary

Valar Atomics in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to help build a world-class accounting function. You’ll lead the month-end close, own reconciliations, and partner with Finance and Operations to scale systems and processes as we grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience including month-end close and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp and MS Office.
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and ability to work with ambiguity.
• Strong communicator who can collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive the month end close process end-to-end, including journal entries, reconciliations, flux and variance analysis.
• Own close-cycle areas like fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid expenses, accruals, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Support GL maintenance and evolve reporting structure to meet growth needs.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and perform variance analysis and KPI tracking.
• Communicate requirements clearly to non-finance partners and support system implementations.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation of procedures.
• Assist with audit readiness and alternative analyses as needed.
• Support ERP/AP automation and expense management expansions.
