Job summary

Valar Atomics, a fast-growing energy startup in Torrance, CA, seeks a hands-on Senior Accountant to build a scalable finance function. You will own the month-end close, maintain controls, and partner with Operations to provide clear financial insight.

The role requires 3+ years of accounting experience, US GAAP mastery, and proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp, and Excel. Equity, onsite meals, and a culture of ownership are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Drive the month end close end-to-end and prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Own close-cycle areas like fixed assets, depreciation, accruals, payroll, and cash reconciliations.
• Support GL maintenance and evolving reporting structures for growth.
• Prepare monthly financial packages and perform variance analysis for leadership.
