Job summary

Valar Atomics seeks a hands-on Senior Accountant to build a scalable accounting function. You will own the month-end close, drive accuracy, and collaborate with Finance and Operations to establish robust financial infrastructure for growth.

The role requires 3+ years of accounting experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp, and Excel. Startup experience is a plus, with equity and rapid impact on processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office tools.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and tolerance for ambiguity.
• Strong communicator across teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive the month end close end-to-end with entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Own close-cycle areas like fixed assets, depreciation, accruals, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Support GL maintenance and evolving reporting structures.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and perform KPI analysis for leadership.
• Communicate requirements clearly to non-finance partners.
• Contribute to process improvements and system implementations.
