Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a hands-on Senior Manager of Accounting to own the month-end close and scale the accounting function as the company grows. You will lead the GL, depreciation and capitalization decisions, and develop a high-performing team to support rapid growth.

You will partner with Finance, HR, Systems, Warehousing, and Operations to translate business activity into accurate financials, while ensuring audit readiness and strong internal controls across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of accounting experience with end-to-end close and financial reporting.
• 3+ years in people management and development of accountants.
• Experience building/scaling an accounting function with processes and controls.
• Proficiency with US GAAP and accounting standards.
• Experience in startup or high-growth environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close end-to-end with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Own GL maintenance and financial structure to scale with the business.
• Manage fixed assets, capitalization policies, and project cost tracking.
• Coordinate internal reporting, and support annual financial statements and audits.
• Drive automation of accounting workflows and document procedures.
• Lead ERP/system implementations and ensure audit readiness.
