Job summary

Remote Jobs is seeking a Sr. Manager, Accounting to lead a fast‑growing Finance team.

This hands‑on leadership role balances technical accounting expertise with operational execution in the areas of equity, intangibles, goodwill, leases, and fixed assets. You will guide monthly closings, consolidate reporting for auditors, manage intercompany eliminations, and partner with Tax on state filings while driving system-wide improvements in Workday and broader ERP tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Big 4 experience and CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Experience with Workday/Looker/Microsoft Suite/GSuite or other large ERP
• Demonstrated experience in a public company environment, including readiness for and participation in an Initial Public Offering (IPO).
• Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly related to complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills including active listening and the ability to articulate complex issues to a variety of audiences
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize competing projects, work under pressure, and adhere to deadlines
• Possesses high emotional intelligence and is able to build and maintain relationships at various levels, both within and outside of the finance department.
• Proven record of mentoring and developing talent.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with a high level of integrity and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly allocations and software capitalization processes.
• Review monthly close for the trial balance and financial statements.
• Serve as SME on equity accounting, 409A valuations, and stock-based compensation.
• Manage intangible assets, goodwill, leases, and fixed assets and update accounting memos.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Lead transition of legacy systems from acquisitions into accounting systems.
• Prepare commentary for monthly/quarterly statements for Audit Committee.
• Collaborate with Tax on income tax data and state/local filings.
• Serve as Workday system expert for configuration and process improvements.
• Assist with the annual audit and related disclosures.
• Mentor and develop accounting team and drive process improvements.
