Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Technical Accounting Manager to navigate complex, non-routine transactions and implement new accounting standards. You will join a high-performing team ensuring U.S. GAAP and SEC compliance, collaborating with Legal, FP&A, Tax, Investor Relations and more.

You’ll manage accounting memos, policy development, and SOX/compliance efforts while mentoring junior staff. This remote role offers exposure to equity, debt financings, and M&A accounting in a fast-growing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and CPA license.
• 8+ years of progressive technical accounting experience under U.S. GAAP, with exposure to financing arrangements, consolidations, derivatives, stock-based compensation and business combinations.
• Public company experience, including SEC reporting and SOX 404 internal controls.
• Big 4 audit or transaction advisory experience, or equivalent in-house role; 4+ years at a Big 4 preferred.
• Experience leading accounting for financing and M&A transactions of meaningful size and complexity.
• Excellent communication and writing skills for clear technical memos and executive explanations.

Responsibilities

• Draft high-quality accounting memos and analyses to support management’s conclusions and auditor concurrence.
• Evaluate accounting for complex, non-routine transactions and provide strategic guidance to partners.
• Review accounting for material lease transactions in partnership with the Leasing team.
• Review non-routine revenue arrangements with Revenue Accounting.
• Lead accounting and valuation of M&A transactions and strategic investments.
• Perform impairment analyses for goodwill, long-lived assets and indefinite-lived intangibles.
