Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst in Blaine, MN. The role blends general ledger accounting, month-end close, and reconciliations with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and profitability analysis.

You will partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and HR to improve cost visibility, drive performance, and support ERP modernization while contributing to a growing, capable team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• 5+ years progressively responsible accounting/financial analysis experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
• Advanced Excel skills for reporting and automation.
• Proficiency in month-end close activities and journal entries.
• Experience with cost accounting, cost analysis, and cost management.
• Ability to analyze inventory, manufacturing variances, and product costs.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, HR, and leadership.
• GAAP compliance with internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial results, identify variances and explain drivers of performance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning and financial modeling.
• Develop management reports, dashboards, KPIs, and profitability analyses.
• Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.
• Analyze manufacturing performance, inventory levels, product costs, pricing and margin trends.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
