Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accounting Consultant to support a complex, high-volume environment from initial activity through customer billing and final accounting treatment in Dallas, TX. You will investigate discrepancies, trace transactions across systems, and drive root causes to resolution.

Responsibilities include supporting M&A integrations, onboarding new business, and assisting with month-end close, accrual entries, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience supporting M&A, acquisitions, system integrations, ERP implementations, or business transitions.
• Experience with complex or high-volume billing and transactional accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance completed.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-volume transactions through the full lifecycle, ensuring accurate and timely customer billing.
• Research and resolve complex billing, accounting, and transactional discrepancies.
• Trace transactions across multiple systems to identify root causes and drive issues through resolution.
• Support M&A integrations and customer onboarding, including system/data setup, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Partner with Accounting, Customer Solutions, Master Data, Supply, Inventory, Fuel Payables, and other cross-functional teams.
• Identify opportunities for workflow automation, process improvement, and increased efficiency within accounting processes.
• Support month-end close, including researching outstanding activity and preparing accrual journal entries.
• Navigate RightAngle and other systems to understand how operational activity impacts billing and downstream accounting.
