Job summary

6 Degrees Group is seeking a Senior Accountant in Atlanta, GA to own the accounting core of the business, including month-end close, GL, reconciliations, inventory, cash, and reporting. You will partner with the Controller and back them up, helping improve processes across the finance function.

The role calls for manufacturing experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills, with CPA progression preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare internal financial statements, P&L and balance sheet trend analysis, and ad hoc reporting for leadership.
• Support inventory valuation, including counts, roll-forwards, and related cash and AR processes.
• Coordinate the annual audit and provide day-to-day guidance to AR and AP analysts.

6 Degrees Group is recruiting for a Senior Accountant in Atlanta, GA.Our client is a longtime manufacturer of specialty high-performance materials serving aerospace, defense, electronics, and a range of other industries. This role owns the accounting core of the business: month-end close, the general ledger, reconciliations, inventory, cash, and financial reporting. Youll partner closely with the Controller, serve as their primary backup, and help guide and train the AR and AP team. Its a great spot for someone who wants real ownership, a seat at the table with leadership, and room to make processes better.

Responsibilities:

• Own the month-end close, including complex journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Prepare internal financial statements, P&L and balance sheet trend analysis, and ad hoc reporting for the Controller and executive team
• Support inventory valuation, including physical counts, monthly roll forwards, and inventory reconciliations, along with cash, sales tax, and AR processes
• Coordinate the annual audit, maintain internal controls, and provide day-to-day guidance to the AR and AP analysts

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills; Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience preferred
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
