Job summary

6 Degrees Group in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Senior Accountant to own a significant portion of the month-end close and general ledger. This hands-on role reports to the Manager of Corporate Accounting and drives scalable processes while applying AI and automation to work smarter in a growing global specialty materials business.

The position is hybrid with at least three days in the office each week, offering impact within a company continuing to build.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
• 2 to 5+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, industry, or both.
• Strong command of general ledger accounting and US GAAP, with ERP experience (JDE a plus) and Blackline.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and exposure to AI tools like Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries and accruals under US GAAP, and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Perform account reconciliations, dig into variances and open items, and keep the general ledger accurate and complete.
• Assist with internal and external financial reporting and handle ad hoc analysis requests from management.
• Find ways to streamline accounting processes with AI and automation, and support system enhancements and ERP integrations.
