Job summary

Action Inc. in Montana seeks a Senior Accountant to support daily financial operations under the CFO. You will help ensure accurate reporting, perform bank reconciliations, and manage journal entries, accounts payable, and grant budgets.

You will maintain confidential records, assist with the annual audit, and contribute to program monitoring. Strong Excel and accounting software skills, plus a detail‑oriented, collaborative approach, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Commitment to confidentiality and responsible stewardship; bondable and insurable.

Responsibilities

• Support the CFO and Accounting team in maintaining accurate, timely, and well-organized financial operations.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and information.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare/review accounting journal entries.
• Reconcile weatherization jobs.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the annual external audit and program monitoring by compiling requested documentation and information.
• Review and approve accounts payable, cash disbursements, and other transactions.
• Prepare and enter grant/program budgets.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential financial records and perform other related duties as assigned.
