Global Impact is seeking a Senior Accountant for Intercompany Accounts to oversee day-to-day accounting, intercompany transactions, and general ledger activities in a fast-paced nonprofit setting.

The role supports grant tracking, prepares reconciliations, and assists with Form 990 filings; DC-based employees may work 1-2 days in the headquarters, with remote option for others.

Senior Accountant, Intercompany Accounts

As a Senior Accountant for Intercompany Accounts, you’ll be r esponsiblefor collecting, reconciling, and summarizing accounting information, entering data into different accounting software, and prepar ing preliminary financial reports in an intercompany environment.

Responsibilities

We’reseekinga Senior Accountantwhodemonstratesthe ability tooversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and close processes for assigned clients. This role is ideal for a collaborative finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities, and brings strong full-cycle accounting experience to supportaccurate,timely, and compliant financial operations.

• Manage day-to-day accountingactivitiesfor assigned clients, including financial transaction recording, month-end and year-end close processes, preliminary financial statements, and budget variance reporting.
• Oversee and record intercompany transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain general ledger activity for client-related entries, including account reconciliations, close entries, and grant tracking.
• Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and other general ledger accounts, as needed.
• Prepare day-to-day and month-end close journal entries.
• Support grant tracking and reporting for restricted and unrestricted client funds.
• Reconcile monthly client credit card activity.
• Develop andmaintaina strong understanding of each assigned client’s accounting operations, deliverables, and deadlines.
• Track andmaintainvendor and subgrantee contracts and prepare required reporting.
• Assistwith preparation of annual Form 990 filings, related tax forms such as1099s, and audit support materials.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of proven experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role.
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience.
• Experience working in finance and/or with affiliated 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP is a significant plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability tofollow through, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and professionalism.

Employees local to Washington, D.C., work 1-2 days per week in the headquarters office. Otherwise, this role can be remote. Visa sponsorship is not available.
