Job summary

Action Inc. in Southwest Montana is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the CFO and lead day-to-day financial operations and reporting. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on accuracy and timely financial processing.

You will prepare financial analyses, perform reconciliations, assist with audits, and help manage grant budgets while maintaining confidential records. Ideal candidates have accounting education or equivalent experience and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
• Experience with Excel and accounting software is preferred.
• Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Commitment to confidentiality and stewardship of agency resources.

Responsibilities

• Support CFO and Accounting team in maintaining accurate financial operations.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and information.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review accounting journal entries.
• Reconcile weatherization jobs.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support annual external audit and program monitoring with documentation.
• Review and approve accounts payable, cash disbursements, and other transactions.
• Prepare and enter grant/program budgets.
• Maintain confidential financial records and perform related duties.
