Job summary

Novatae Risk Group seeks a Senior Accountant to join the accounting team in a hybrid Dallas office. You will manage operating expenses, prepare journal entries, and support close processes with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting experience; a Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required and CPA preferred. Proficiency in Excel and general ledger systems is essential for monthly close and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Experience: 3–5 years in accounting; insurance industry a plus.
• Proficiency with general ledger systems and MS Office, especially Excel (intermediate+).
• High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication with peers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Manage producer commission accrual process and financial reporting.
• Record monthly journal entries for operating expenses, accruals, prepaids, payroll, and related accounts.
• Perform pro forma analyses for budgeting and forecasting.
• Conduct variance analyses and explain fluctuations to leadership.
• Identify improvements to accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
• Perform ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.
