Job summary

Vaco in Dallas, TX seeks a hands-on Senior Accountant for a hybrid role with two days in the office. You will own the month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP compliance to build scalable finance processes.

Reporting to the assistant controller, you will improve accounting policies, collaborate across departments, and mentor junior staff as the company grows. Compensation ranges from $95k to $110k with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry).
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and GAAP compliance.
• Analyze results, investigate variances, and provide insights to leadership.
• Support audit readiness and prepare schedules for external audits.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and cash management activities.
• Mentor junior accounting staff as the company grows.
