Job summary

WatchGuard Technologies, a global network security leader, seeks an experienced accountant to support the general ledger and month-end close. You will ensure GAAP compliance, develop policies, and contribute to the monthly closing process while coordinating with international teams.

The role reports to the Corporate Controller and requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and effective communication across all levels of the company. CPA and public accounting background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA and public accounting experience preferred.
• 3+ years of experience with equivalent responsibilities.
• Strong general accounting background, experience with month-end close, and knowledge of US GAAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Team-oriented self-starter with good problem-solving skills and ability to interact positively with all levels of the company.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly detail-oriented with excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end closing of the general ledger, including preparation and recording of journal entries and review of balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Ensure estimates, accruals, prepayments, reserves, and provisions are calculated and supported with appropriate basis or backup in accordance with US GAAP.
• Review trial balance and financial statements for completeness and accuracy.
• Ownership of fixed assets accounting.
• Research accounting guidance and provide recommendation on accounting treatment and application.
• Update consolidated general ledger for overseas operations.
• Review financial reports produced by international bookkeepers and assist in reclaiming VAT, GST, etc.
