Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support complex accounting activities for the monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and forecasting. The role partners across the business to ensure accurate reporting and strong controls.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year degree in accounting or finance and 5+ years of experience in public accounting or a large corporate setting, with GAAP and SOX knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support complex accounting activities related to the accurate and timely close of the general ledger. This role will be responsible for month-end close activities, account reconciliations, variance analysis, technical accounting research, and forecasting while partnering cross-functionally across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Analyze financial results and provide clear variance explanations for revenue and expense accounts.
• Perform technical accounting research and prepare accounting memos to document conclusions and recommendations.
• Ensure general ledger balances are materially accurate and compliant with GAAP, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Support the forecasting and strategic outlook process, including understanding key forecast components and business drivers.
• Partner cross-functionally with business and finance teams to gather information, understand financial impacts, and support forecasting activities.
• Assist with fixed assets, lease/contract reviews, budget variance analysis, and other complex accounting activities as needed.
• Lead or contribute to process improvement, compliance, and accounting-related initiatives.
• Provide guidance and review work completed by more junior accounting professionals.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting and/or financial reporting within public accounting or a large corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Ability to conduct technical accounting research and document findings through accounting memos.
