Job summary

Carrix, Inc./SSA Marine, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to apply GAAP principles, analyze financial information, and prepare accurate, timely financial statements in a fast-paced office.

You will support monthly close, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and produce management reports for operating trends and margin analysis. The role requires strong Excel skills, the ability to handle multiple projects, and clear communication with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
• Two to four years progressively responsible experience in accounting.
• Public accounting or advisory experience strongly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP.
• Familiarity with statutory accounting principles.
• Strong analytical and accounting skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly close and consolidations including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare management reports and complete financial statements for monitoring of trends and margin analysis.
• Act as liaison with terminal managers and joint venture partners on job cost results.
• Communicate with Billing and port authorities to resolve unusual or incomplete information.
• Analyze month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter variances.
• Prepare and review stand-alone audit reports.
• Assist with optimizing accounting procedures and leadership with financial statement prep.
• Other duties as assigned.
