Job summary

BenchPrep is hiring a Staff/Senior Accountant for a fully remote role reporting to the Controller. You will maintain financial records, prepare reports, and ensure GAAP compliance across budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements.

You should have 3–8 years of accounting experience, CPA preferred, and strong Excel skills. Prior experience with NetSuite or similar systems is valued, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years Staff Accountant or 5–8 years Sr Accountant experience; public accounting preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial statement preparation experience.
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function: reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate to departments; report as needed.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and accurate revenue recognition.
• Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasts, and year-end tax schedules.
• Identify process improvements in accounting workflows.
