Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to support our growing finance team. This remote role reports to the Controller and involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and ensuring GAAP compliance.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year accounting degree (CPA preferred), 3–8 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with NetSuite, Intacct or QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years (Staff Accountant), or 5–8 years (Sr Accountant) in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Intacct, QuickBooks, etc.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including account reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses to departments with reporting.
• Ensure transactions align with GAAP and company policies.
• Review revenue recognition and billing transactions for proper allocation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly journal entries and accruals.
