Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to join the finance team and maintain accurate financial records. The role focuses on reporting, data analysis, and regulatory compliance while supporting budgets, forecasts, audits, and process improvements.

Reporting to the Controller, you’ll manage reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly closings. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, and proficiency with Excel and common accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate to departments; report as needed.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and proper revenue recognition.
• Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow variances.
• Assist in budgets and year-end tax schedules.
• Identify process improvements in accounting workflows.
