Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to support our growing operations. This remote role reports to the Controller and focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has a CPA and 3–5 years (staff) or 5–8 years (senior) in accounting or auditing, with strong GAAP knowledge and revenue recognition expertise; experience with NetSuite, Intacct, or QuickBooks is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA preferred).
• 3–5 years in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition; ability to prepare financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses to departments with reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and proper revenue recognition; post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals.
• Assist in preparing balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow information.
• Support budgeting and variance analysis; assist in budgets for management review.
• Prepare year-end schedules for tax returns; look for process improvements.
