Job summary

Associated Bank seeks a skilled accounting professional to support the Corporate Controller's Group with essential financial accounting and reporting. You will help ensure accurate records, timely reporting and robust internal controls while collaborating with teams across the organization.

You will deepen your knowledge of GAAP, SEC and banking regulations, and contribute to ongoing process improvements in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum 3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience in a team environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage assigned general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies and resolve exceptions through follow-up and analysis.
• Support monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities, including financial analysis and closing entries.
• Partner with internal teams by providing accounting guidance, researching results, coding invoices, and resolving general ledger questions.
• Prepare and review financial information and schedules for SEC filings, management reports, investor materials, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with internal, external and regulatory auditors by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Research GAAP, FASB, SEC, and banking regulations and assist with implementing new accounting standards.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, processes, procedures and internal controls.

Education

Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification

CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification
