Job summary

Associated Bank is seeking an experienced accounting professional for the Corporate Controller’s Group to support key financial accounting and reporting activities, ensuring accurate records and timely reporting while strengthening internal controls. You will partner with teams across the organization to deepen knowledge of GAAP, SEC, and banking regulations.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, close activities, SEC schedules, auditor coordination, and researching GAAP

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting/finance experience in a team environment.
• CPA and CMA certifications by start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and supporting documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage assigned general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve exceptions through follow-up and analysis.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including financial analysis and closing entries.
• Partner with internal teams by providing accounting guidance, researching results, coding invoices, and resolving general ledger questions.
• Prepare and review financial information and supporting schedules for SEC filings, management reports, investor materials, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with internal, external, and regulatory auditors by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Research GAAP, FASB, SEC, and banking regulations and assist with implementing new accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, processes, procedures, and internal financial controls in accordance with company policies and applicable standards.
