Job summary

Associated Bank is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support the Corporate Controller's Group in robust financial reporting and compliance. The role focuses on accurate ledger management, close processes, and strong collaboration with internal teams.

You will contribute to GAAP compliance, regulatory reporting, and preparing schedules for SEC filings while upholding internal controls and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience in a team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification by start date is preferred.
• CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification by start date is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and supporting documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage assigned general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve exceptions through follow-up and analysis.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including financial analysis and closing entries.
• Partner with internal teams by providing accounting guidance, researching results, coding invoices, and resolving general ledger questions.
• Prepare and review financial information and supporting schedules for SEC filings, management reports, investor materials, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with internal, external, and regulatory auditors by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Research GAAP, FASB, SEC, and banking regulations and assist with implementing new accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, processes, procedures, and internal financial controls in accordance with company policies and applicable standards.
