Job summary

Associated Bank is seeking an experienced accountant to support the Corporate Controller’s Group with accurate financial records and timely reporting. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure internal controls meet GAAP, SEC, and banking regulations, while growing your accounting expertise.

You’ll contribute to monthly close, analyze financial data, and prepare schedules for regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience in a team environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
CPA certification by start date preferred.
CMA certification by start date preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries, balance sheet schedules, and supporting documentation with accuracy.
Manage general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve exceptions.
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including financial analysis.
Provide accounting guidance to internal teams and assist with invoices and GL questions.
Prepare and review information for SEC filings, management reports, investor materials, and regulatory reporting.
Coordinate with auditors and gather documentation to respond to inquiries.
Research GAAP, FASB, SEC, and banking regulations and implement new standards.
Maintain accurate accounting records, processes, and internal controls.
