Job summary

Virta Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our remote-first finance team. You will prepare journal entries and reconciliations, support month-end close, and help automate processes using AI-enabled tools. A CPA and GAAP knowledge are valued, with experience in revenue recognition and inventory considered a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
3–4 years of accounting experience (public/private mix).
CPA preferred.
Experience with revenue recognition, inventory, stock-based compensation, debt/equity financing, business combinations or investments.
Experience leveraging automation, AI tools, or advanced technology to improve accounting processes.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations.
Help maintain and improve month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure GAAP compliance.
Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI-enabled tools, and process improvements to streamline the close.
Assist with annual financial statement audit.
Analyze financial statements and GL accounts for fluctuations.
Prepare operational and ad hoc reporting for assigned areas.
