Job summary

Virta Health seeks an experienced accountant to support month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations in a remote-first environment. You will help improve processes with automation and AI tools while ensuring GAAP compliance and supporting audits.

3–4 years of accounting experience and a CPA are preferred, with a focus on revenue recognition, inventory, and other complex areas. The role offers a remote-first setup with compensation ranging from $83,738 to $110,000, based on experience,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
3–4 years of accounting experience, preferably with public/private mix.
CPA preferred.
Experience with complex accounting areas including revenue recognition, inventory, stock-based compensation, debt/equity financing, business combinations or investments.
Ability to leverage automation/AI tools to improve accounting processes, reporting, and close efficiency.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations.
Maintain and improve month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure GAAP compliance.
Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI-enabled tools, and process improvements to speed up the close and reduce manual work.
Support annual financial statement audit responses and information requests.
Analyze financial statements and GL accounts for fluctuations and documentation.
Prepare operational and ad hoc reporting for additional financial analysis.
Assist accounting leadership as needed.
