Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant for the Baltimore area, a hybrid role blending operational accounting, process improvement, and cross-functional exposure within a fast-paced finance team.

You will prepare journal entries, analyze variances, manage month-end close, assist with financial reporting, and support audits while pursuing CPA. The position offers a hybrid schedule, a competitive salary of $90,000 to $120,000 plus bonus, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience; public accounting preferred.
• CPA candidate or CPA
• Strong understanding of general ledger and month-end close.
• Experience in fast-paced or growing organization preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for month-end close.
• Analyze financial statements and investigate variances across accounts.
• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and ensure policy compliance.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
• Support operating accounting activities including accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Assist with audit support and provide documentation for external auditors.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
