Job summary

LHH is seeking a Senior Accountant in San Francisco to support critical accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This hands-on role requires public company experience and strong collaboration across the business to drive accuracy and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in progressive accounting roles, GAAP expertise, and advanced Excel skills to analyze accounts and support audits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Assist with financial statements and SEC reporting support.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement analyses.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Support external audits and SOX compliance activities.
• Analyze accounting transactions and research technical accounting matters as needed.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

• Assist with preparation of financial statements and SEC reporting support

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Support external audits and SOX compliance activities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Public company accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes
• Experience supporting audits and internal controls
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
• Experience working within ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, Dynamics, SAP, or similar platforms
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
• Strong communication and organizational skills
