Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including vendor payments and expenses.
• Coordinate vendor setup and payment processes with proper documentation and approvals.
• Review billing and revenue to ensure proper recognition and accuracy.

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a dynamic organization within the sports and entertainment industry that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its growing team.

This is a unique opportunity for an accounting professional who is excited to join an organization at an important stage of growth and play an active role in building and developing the accounting function from the ground up. The Senior Accountant will work in a highly collaborative environment with significant exposure across the business, helping establish processes, strengthen controls, enhance reporting, and support the company's evolving financial infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial reporting, along with the flexibility and initiative to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Take an active role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing fluctuations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Manage and monitor various general ledger and balance sheet accounts, researching discrepancies and resolving outstanding items.
• Maintain supporting schedules related to accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, allocations, and other accounting activity.
• Oversee key aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including payment processing, employee expenses, vendor activity, billing, and outstanding receivables.
• Coordinate the vendor setup and payment process, including collection of required documentation, banking information, approvals, and payment authorization.
• Review customer billing and revenue activity to help ensure transactions are properly recorded and revenue is recognized in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Prepare and review entries related to areas such as payroll, accruals, expense allocations, and prepaid activity.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, corporate credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Help develop and enhance ERP-based financial reporting, including management reporting, departmental analysis, and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Partner with leadership to identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, automate manual processes, and implement scalable procedures as the organization continues to grow.
• Assist with external audit and tax requirements, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to the development of internal controls, accounting policies, and documented procedures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various areas of the organization and assist with additional accounting initiatives as needed.
