LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a small, start-up environment company seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the month-end close process, wearing multiple hats, and helping build scalable accounting processes as the organization continues to grow.

You will lead close activities, prepare journal entries, manage reconciliations, and support audits and financial reporting in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience with hands-on ownership of month-end close.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting.
• CPA designation or audit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries, including payroll, accruals, prepaids, allocations, and other adjustments.
• Maintain prepaid, accrual, fixed asset, and other supporting schedules.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments, expense reporting, collections, and cash management.
• Review revenue and billing schedules to ensure accurate invoicing and ASC 606 compliance.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts; resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, payment approvals, and related accounting processes.
• Assist with ERP reporting, financial analysis, and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Support audits, tax filings, process improvements, and internal controls initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare journal entries, including payroll, accruals, prepaids, allocations, and other accounting adjustments
• Maintain prepaid, accrual, fixed asset, and other supporting schedules
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments, expense reporting, collections, and cash management
• Review revenue and billing schedules to ensure accurate invoicing and compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts while investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Oversee vendor onboarding, payment approvals, and related accounting processes
• Assist with ERP reporting, financial analysis, and budget-to-actual reporting
• Support audits, tax filings, process improvements, and internal controls initiatives

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience with hands-on ownership of month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience, including bank reconciliations and resolving accounting discrepancies
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Advanced Excel skills and an interest in leveraging automation and AI tools to improve efficiency
• CPA designation, CPA track, public accounting, or audit experience is a plus
• Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
• Comfortable working in a growing environment where processes continue to evolve
