Job summary

Almco Plumbing in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for an on-site role. The position oversees daily accounting operations, GL management, journal entries, and reconciliations, while producing monthly, quarterly, and annual statements and supporting budgets and forecasts.

You will ensure GAAP compliance, assist audits, monitor cash flow, and provide financial analysis to guide business decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting for management and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and other financial analysis tools.
• Knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, internal controls, and audit procedures, with the ability to ensure compliance and support external auditors.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret financial data and recommend process improvements.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with operations, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including work in construction, plumbing, or related trades-based businesses.
• Ability to work on-site in San Diego, CA and maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Role Description This full-time Senior Accountant role is an on‑site position based at Almco Plumbing in San Diego, CA. The role includes preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and monitoring cash flow and expense allocations. The Senior Accountant will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, as well as assist with audits and provide financial analysis to support business decisions. This role will also collaborate with operations and leadership to interpret financial data, improve processes, and maintain accurate records for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll‑related transactions.
