Exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to provide leadership in accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis for a growing, operations-driven organization. This position reports to the Controller and will work closely with cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment. This individual will be responsible for supporting month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight, cash flow planning, and process improvement initiatives, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and maintaining strong internal controls. The role offers exposure to financial analysis, forecasting, treasury activities, audit support, and operational accounting in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including the posting and reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and post complex journal entries, accruals, revenue adjustments, and other recurring and non-recurring transactions.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports, and other financial reporting packages for management and stakeholders.
- Analyze costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to support forecasting and financial planning initiatives.
- Perform variance and flux analysis across accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, and operating expense accounts.
- Partner with leadership to assist with cash flow forecasting, treasury activities, and working capital management.
- Analyze working capital trends and support liquidity planning initiatives.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls through documentation, testing support, and remediation efforts.
- Assist with audit preparation, coordinate audit requests, and provide documentation to external auditors.
- Provide oversight and support for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, performing transactional work as needed.
- Research, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies using sound professional judgment.
- Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives across accounting, AP, and AR functions.
- Serve as a liaison for ERP system enhancements, automation efforts, and financial systems optimization.
- Support cross-functional projects designed to improve operational efficiency and financial reporting accuracy.
- Assist with special projects, reporting requests, and internal initiatives as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience in construction, transportation, or logistics preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Experience preparing financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with ERP and payment systems such as Yardi, Bill.com, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams and leadership.
- Experience supporting audits, lender reporting, or private equity‑backed organizations is a plus.
