Job summary

The Addison Group in Florida is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support monthly close, financial reporting, and GL activities on a contract basis.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and Sage Intacct. Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, audits, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience including month-end close and financial reporting.
• Strong GAAP and general ledger accounting knowledge.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Experience with Sage Intacct.
• Experience supporting process improvements or multi-entity accounting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, including journal entries and GL maintenance.
• Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting errors.
• Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Support tax and licensing reporting and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and ERP efficiency.
• Assist with integrating newly acquired entities into accounting systems.

Pay: $45–$48/hour (depending on experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join a team and support monthly close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support month-end close, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations for accounts such as accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, payroll liabilities, fixed assets, and leases.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting or transactional errors to maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with external audits by preparing supporting schedules and documentation.
• Support tax and licensing compliance through accurate reporting and required documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and ERP system efficiency.
• Assist with integrating newly acquired entities into existing accounting systems and processes as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a small accounting team.
• Experience with Sage Intacct.
• Experience supporting process improvements, audits, or multi-entity accounting.
