Overview
A Senior Accountant ensures the accuracy of financial records, oversees month-end closes, and maintains compliance with GAAP. They prepare complex reconciliations, analyze financial data for management, and mentor junior staff. Key requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 3-5 years of experience, and strong Excel/ERP software proficiency. Monday-Friday, 9AM - 6PM, on site.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end/year-end close process, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and support internal/external audits.
- General Ledger: Maintain, analyze, and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Mentorship: Supervise and train junior accountants or bookkeepers.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in public or corporate accounting.
- Certification: CPA license is often required or preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Yardi).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and tax regulations.
