Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the accounting team onsite. The role covers financial reporting, month-end close, audit support, cost analysis, and process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and ERP/Excel proficiency to support product costing and inventory valuation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.

• Manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based accounting experience required.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and inventory valuation.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred; ERP experience a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review reconciliations (cash, A/R, A/P, and other balance sheet accounts).
• Coordinate and assist with external audit activities, including schedules and documentation.
• Perform cost accounting and inventory analysis with operations for accurate product costing.
• Prepare GAAP financial statements and provide variance analysis to management.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and other departments on initiatives.
• Support ERP enhancements, automation, and financial reporting improvements.
• Assist with special projects and cross-unit accounting support.

Our client, a rapidly growing and well-established organization in the food distribution and manufacturing industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in financial reporting, month-end close, audit support, cost analysis, and process improvement initiatives within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Coordinate and assist with external audit activities, including the preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
• Perform cost accounting and inventory analysis, partnering closely with operations to ensure accurate product costing.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and provide meaningful variance analysis to management.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other departments on business initiatives and process improvements.
• Support ERP system enhancements, automation efforts, and financial reporting improvements.
• Assist with special projects and provide accounting support across multiple business units as needed.
