Job summary

FIRSTCALL MECHANICAL GROUP LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support post-acquisition integration and bring up the new company’s accounting function during the first 90–100 days after acquisition.

The role reports to the Integration Controller and will lead US GAAP reporting, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations while driving controls and process improvements across finance processes. Travel approximately 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Understanding of close process including journal entries, reconciliation schedules and financial statement package.
• Deep understanding of percentage of completion (ASC 606) accounting.
• Experience with multiple accounting systems; background in trades environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monthly financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, including all journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliation schedules.
• Communication with 3rd party vendors on the Purchase Price Accounting and Quality of Earnings rollforward.
• Maintaining proper accounting procedures and controls and related documentation.
• Working with office administration team and providing accounting guidance.
• Implementing process improvements in the finance functions.

The Role

We are hiring an Sr. Accountant to support our new partners with a successful transition to becoming a FirstCall operating company. This role will work closely with our Integration Controller to support a new company’s integration into FirstCall’s accounting organization for the first 90-100 days post-acquisition.

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Understanding of financial close process including the preparation journal entries, reconciliation schedules and financial statement package
• Deep understanding of percentage of completion (ASC 606) accounting
• High degree of professionalism and strong sense of ownership and pride in your work
• Experience with multiple accounting systems
• Background in trades environment: construction, electrical, HVAC, a plus
