Job summary

FirstCall Mechanical Group is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support a newly acquired partner by joining the integration team for the first 90–100 days.

You will work closely with the Integration Controller to ensure a smooth transition into FirstCall’s accounting organization, based in Central Support/ Austin, with travel about 20%. You will handle monthly financial reporting under US GAAP, perform journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations, and coordinate with vendors on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience.
• Proficient in US GAAP close processes and journal entries.
• Deep understanding of ASC 606 (percent complete) accounting.
• Experience with multiple accounting systems and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reporting under US GAAP, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Communicate with vendors on Purchase Price Accounting and Quality of Earnings rollforward.
• Maintain accounting controls and documentation; support office administration with guidance.
• Drive process improvements in finance functions.
• Collaborate with Integration Controller during post-acquisition integration.

The Role

We are hiring an Sr. Accountant to support our new partners with a successful transition to becoming a FirstCall operating company. This role will work closely with our Integration Controller to support a new company’s integration into FirstCall’s accounting organization for the first 90-100 days post-acquisition.

Job Overview

• Monthly financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, including all journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliation schedules
• Communication with 3rd party vendors on the Purchase Price Accounting and Quality of Earnings rollfoward
• Maintaining proper accounting procedures and controls and related documentation
• Working with office administration team and providing accounting guidance
• Implementing process improvements in the finance functions

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

This position will report to the Integration Controller.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Understanding of financial close process including the preparation journal entries, reconciliation schedules and financial statement package
• Deep understanding of percentage of completion (ASC 606) accounting
• High degree of professionalism and strong sense of ownership and pride in your work
• Experience with multiple accounting systems
• Background in trades environment: construction, electrical, HVAC, a plus
