Job summary

Department of Homeland Security seeks a Senior Accessibility Subject Matter Expert to lead Section 508 compliance across DHS IT communities. The contractor will perform testing, remediation, guidance, and lifecycle support under an HR-related contract with leadership from the DHS OCIO EAD.

This is a remote role with occasional on-site work at TSA Headquarters if requested by the Government; must meet DHS suitability and EOD requirements and hold DHS Trusted Tester and CPACC certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years testing web content for Section 508 conformance.
• Minimum two years remediating documents for 508 compliance.
• Minimum three years supporting ICT projects with 508 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform Section 508 testing of ICT using DHS-approved methods.
• Maintain DHS Trusted Tester certification during the contract.
• Review and quality-check Section 508 test results for accuracy.
• Remediate electronic documents and forms for 508 compliance.
• Provide 508 technical assistance during evaluations of reports and templates.
• Develop accessibility test plans and advise on results remediation.
• Support lifecycle activities from design through deployment with 508 guidance.
• Back-up support for DHS Section 508 Program and events.
• Ensure all materials for events are accessible.
