Qualifications

• Experience in college level academic advising, including online and campus-based settings.
• Experience with diverse student populations.
• Experience in fast-paced, high-volume advising units.
• Experience using PeopleSoft, DARS, and iPOS for student information systems.
• Experience implementing university/program policies and in recruitment/retention.
• Strong critical thinking and independent problem solving.
• Knowledge of current issues in public and higher education and college advising.
• Proficient with Google Suite, Salesforce, Slack and MS Office.
• Experience using database programs (Analytics, Salesforce).
• Experience coordinating events and developing professional relationships.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Master’s degree in higher education or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to campus-based undergraduate and graduate students.
• Refer students to ASU services (Health, Counseling, Fulton Career Center).
• Help students identify degree programs, activities, study abroad, internships fitting goals.
• Maintain student records using various software and data sources.
• Participate in ASU/FSE initiatives to recruit and retain students.
• Consult with chairs, faculty, and students to support progress through curriculum.
• Mentor other advisors or student leaders.
• Take ownership of major projects and lead to completion.
• Monitor student performance and address concerns promptly.
• Collaborate to ensure ongoing satisfaction with program progress.
