GFT is seeking a Principal EHV Transmission Line Engineer with a focus on 765kV design to join our Power Business Group. The role reports to the office locations including Chicago, IL and could be fully remote for the right candidate.

You will lead transmission line project designs, develop criteria, prepare construction packages, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with clients and internal teams on demanding energy infrastructure projects.

Competenze

• 15+ years of experience in transmission line design.
• Lead design efforts on 765kV projects.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, AISC, ASCE 7/10/48.
• Proficient in PLS-CADD and utility design standards.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication.

Mansioni

• Design transmission line segments using PLS-CADD or other tools.
• Develop design criteria documents and construction specifications.
• Prepare construction packages with plans, profiles, and staking tables.
• Estimate costs, resources, and schedules for projects.
• Review specifications per NESC/IEEE/NEC and industry best practices.
• Conduct feasibility and routing studies and EMF calculations.
• Oversee project implementation and verification of foundations/structures.
• Lead or assist with proposals and business development.
• Travel to client sites for definition and execution phases.
• Mentor engineers and technicians.
