Samsung Electronics America in Plano, TX seeks a Systems Structure Design Engineer for 5G interface call processing. You will analyze customer requirements, translate them into system designs, and guide development teams through complex wireless architectures.

The role requires 8+ years in wireless, deep 5G knowledge, and hands-on experience with 3GPP Rel-16/17 features, HW/SW architecture, and advanced test tools. Occasional travel and leadership responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE/CS, advanced degree beneficial.
• 8+ years of wireless industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of 5G concepts including Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, New Waveforms.
• Experience with 3GPP Rel-16/17 features.
• Deep understanding of 5G/4G air interface & call processing.
• Solid grasp of PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP layers.
• Experience with protocol analyzers and test tools (XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark).
• Understanding HW and SW architecture.

Responsabilités

• Analyze customer requirements and convert to system requirements and detailed design for development teams.
• Assist in product & feature performance analysis and evaluate new SW releases.
• Perform detailed analysis of 4G/5G Wireless Call Protocols and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide expert technical support in pre‑sales and craft technical/commercial solutions.
• Translate complex design considerations between Samsung sales teams and carriers."
• Educate customers on Samsung’s products and services, individually and in teams.
• Collaborate with support, logistics, and cross‑functional teams for new product rollouts.
• Lead and mentor the team as a systems architect.
• Travel sporadically during the project.
