Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Sr. 5G NTN D2D Phased Array Antenna Architect to join the Payload Architecture team in San Diego.

You will define D2D payload requirements and drive the architecture across RF front-end, digital beamforming, and the modem interface, collaborating with systems, HW design, and regulatory teams. This hands-on role involves testing, validation, and on-orbit support, with responsibilities spanning trade studies, verification planning, and roadmap contributions for

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience designing 3GPP-based wireless communication systems for terrestrial or satellite networks.
• Experience in wireless system design and architecture, system integration, and RF system analysis.

Responsibilities

• Translate high-level service and coverage requirements into D2D payload requirements across constraints.
• Propose and own the D2D phased array architecture spanning from antenna element to modem interface.
• Collaborate with systems, HW design, antenna, silicon, calibration teams to realize architecture.
• Contribute to customer link performance by meeting end-to-end link requirements.
• Define signal integrity requirements for high-speed interconnects and review SI analyses.
• Support RF front-end and DPD/CFR architecture trade studies across technologies.
• Translate 5G NR and NTN standards into phased array requirements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to inform future satellite architectures.
• Provide hands-on production and on-orbit debug support when required.
