Job summary

Amazon Leo seeks a Phased Array RF Front End Architect to lead the RF front-end for D2D and Broadband satellite payloads in San Diego. You will own the analog RF signal chain from antenna to digital interface, ensuring performance across beam steering angles, and collaborating with multiple teams to balance design trade-offs under space constraints.

You will drive semiconductor process decisions, validate requirements via tests, and contribute to thermal and power architecture while supporting

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with RF measurement equipment and link budgets.
• Experience in phased array RF front-end design across beam steering angles.
• 7+ years of RF front-end or phased array architecture experience.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or C++ for RF analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own the phased array RF front-end architecture across D2D and Broadband payloads.
• Ensure RF front-end performance across beam steering angles and scan loss variations.
• Define T/R module architecture balancing performance and process trade-offs.
• Collaborate with multiple architecture teams to align requirements.
• Co-optimize front-end with digital beamforming and RF-to-digital interfaces.
• Drive semiconductor process selection balancing RF performance and radiation tolerance.
• Define radiation tolerance requirements and qualify parts with silicon teams.
• Flow down front-end requirements and validate through test.
• Contribute to thermal and power architecture for RF front-end.
• Evaluate emerging semiconductor tech for future roadmaps.
• Support production and on-orbit debugging; hands-on and on-call.
